Reginald MacLaren was sentenced to serve the rest of his life in prison on July 10, 2024. He was 83-years old at the time of sentencing. The victims in this case were the defendant's wife (Bethany, 70) and his disabled adult daughter (Ruth, 35).
CHARGES:
Reginald MacLaren called the Englewood Police Dispatch around 6pm on March, 25, 2023 to say that his wife and daughter had been murdered. He told police that he thought he knew the man who had probably killed them.
When police arrived on scene at 901 Englewood Parkway, Reginald and Bethany MacLaren's apartment, they found two large black trash bins in the living room. Inside the bins, police found the partially dismembered bodies of Bethany and Ruth MacLaren. They also found an axe and a hand saw which Reginald admitted to purchasing at Home Depot one week before the murders.
